The DabbaWala (The LunchBoxMan)
In Mumbai capital of Maharashtra and the Second most populated city in the world with an estimated population of thirteen million!! Twenty-five million two hundred seventy-four thousand one hundred thirty-two is the total population of Malaysia just compare the both it’s almost half ...... friends this is just a comparison of population that’s all ...... and Mumbai formerly known as Bombay is the Financial Capital of India. And rest if u wanted to know Google it buddies!!! And very interesting thing about this city is this is the land of Dreams Every one goes there with an intention of becoming a Bollywood Star...In this city of there are many many types of businesses and Services. But very interesting and motivating business is the business of Dabbawalas one who carries boxes.
There is a good reason why I have selected the thing to be posted because it is the only business
which is 100% accurate. There are about 200000 Tiffin boxes get moved everyday by 4500 to 5000. This Job seems to be very easy but it is highly specialized and it has become integral to Mumbai's culture.
It was started by a single individual with about 100 men a decade ago. Nowadays Indian businessmen are the main target of these people and their services also includes cooking and delivery.
Working procedure:
Every morning they go for the collection of the boxes from the houses they just can spend their 90 secs of time in front of each house if you are late then you'll miss him. After the collection they rush to the delivery spots and the tiffins get over 3 or 4 hands and the best thing about them is the food is exactly delivered on time whether its heavily raining or its scorching heat. And according to a Recent Survey, there is only one mistake in 6000000 deliveries (that is why its 100% accurate)
Someachievements:
BBC has produced a documentary on Dabbawalas they find out that their organisation is growing 5%-10% a year.....wow!! isnt that nice for any organisation!!huh!!
Now they also have official website for online bookings and you can also book via. SMS. Changing nature of organization .!! haha ....... The success of the organization is due to The TEAM WORK and Time Management. There are just three levels in the organizational chart, simple and sweet. Each Person is required to contribute a minimum capital in kind (which is approx 5000INR), two bicycles, a wooden crate for the tiffins, white kurta-paijamas, as u can see in the picture, and the White Trademark Gandhi Topi(cap). They get a salary of about 5 to 6k INR. People this is an Co-Operative industry and every Dabbawala is a shareholder. hehehehe .... Actually i think it is the best way to reduce unemployment rate!..... These Dabbawalas are also studied by Oxford and Harvard universities and they have a subject which is similar to the concept of this business! ...... So think out some creative and low cost ideas and get popular worldwide!!.......;)...t.c.
